The 2026 Genesis GV60 AWD Performance puts down 252 miles of EPA range, 240 kW fast charging and a 74 kWh battery, and a mid-pack composite means the records-and-test-drive call matters more than the headline.
Score read
A 70/100 makes this worth comparing, not chasing. Do not let the composite hide this split: build quality score is 97/100, while range and efficiency score is 40/100. Reddit threads cluster around software tech and owner satisfaction — verify both against the service records. Documented completion matters more than the recall count itself.
Price context
Used examples are running around $63,801. Treat that as a budgeting floor, not a final price; pull a current KBB Fair Purchase or Edmunds True Market Value for this exact trim before negotiating.

Gotchas
- Serviceable Recall paperwork has to match the exact VIN.
Mitigation Use NHTSA and the automaker lookup, then require repair records instead of a verbal promise.
- Built in Range is the easy place to overbuy this trim (40/100).
Mitigation Check your commute, winter margin, and fast-charge plan before you assume the EPA number fits your use.
Pre-purchase inspection
- 1 Run the exact VIN through NHTSA and the automaker recall lookup before discussing price.
- 2 Compare the dashboard range estimate with the EPA 252-mile rating after a full charge.
- 3 Confirm how much of the 10-year/100,000-mile battery warranty remains and whether it transfers.
- 4 If road trips matter, run a short DC fast-charge session and watch whether speed tapers normally.
- 5 Map your normal highway route and winter margin against the EPA range before you treat it as a road-trip car.

Source & disclaimer
Dealers make ~$3,575 on the average car loan.
After the price is set, the finance manager runs four plays to rebuild margin. Every buyer without a pre-approval is a target. Here's exactly what they run — and what stops each one.
78% of dealer loans carry a hidden +1.13% markup above what the lender actually charges. You never see it — it's buried in the contract. · CFPB
Dealer must match or beat your lender — they can't add margin invisibly. The markup play is dead on arrival.
Once you answer, they stretch the term to hit your number. Median result: $4K less off the price, 12 more months on the loan. · Industry avg
Financing is done. Only the sale price is on the table — and the dealer knows it.
Back-office F&I profit averages $1,975/vehicle, up 8.5% YoY. These products exist — but dealer markup is 4–10x what you'd pay elsewhere. · Dealership Guy
Dealer GAP runs $500–1K. Your insurer sells the same coverage for $100–250 over 5 years. Now you know.
"Your loan fell through — come re-sign." This pulls your APR up +5% on average. It's legal. It works because you've already driven the car home. · Ctr for Responsible Lending
A lender commitment letter means the deal is final. "Pending dealer approval" doesn't apply. You can't be yo-yo'd.
Margin handed to the dealer's finance department — for nothing.
Takes 2 minutes. No obligation to use it — but you'll walk in with all the leverage.
Pre-approval is a soft credit inquiry — no score impact. FICO treats all auto-loan hard pulls within 14 days as one, so you can still shop rates at the dealer.

What Owners Are Saying
"After a bunch of shopping around, I just leased a BMW i4 e35 to replace my Tesla as my new daily I've been in the fortunate position to have a weekend fun car + daily 2 car garage for a while. For a daily Tesla Model 3 for 4 years until I sold it last summer for almost how much I paid for it initially, right before I moved to another country. Now I'm back in the States and I need another daily again. No, despite what you hear the 718 GTS is a terrible daily driver, especially a manual one in this atrocious Pacific Northwest traffic. After 2 weeks my left calf is now visibly larger than my right one, thanks to the heavy clutch. And getting around 16 mpg when gas price is $6/gallon doesn't feel good either. The following are the cars I considered and drove: **Tesla Model 3**: Best cost/performance EV powertrain in the business. A Model 3 Performance is 15% cheaper than a Kia EV6 GT and 30% cheaper than a BMW i4 M50, while having longer range and the Tesla charger network. But I want something different this time around. I wanted something with a *premium* interior and good noise insulation, two things that I disliked the most about the Model 3. **Kia EV6**: Great packaging and good platform. Looks good from the outside, a ton of space inside, decent range and very good value. The interior material/build quality feels cheap. However the deal breaker was the seats. Something was protruding weirdly in the back against my lower spine and I couldn't get comfortable no matter what. Tried lumbar adjustment, different car, etc, didn't go away. Can't buy a car that I don't feel comfortable sitting in. **Hyundai Ioniq 5**: Great car. Slightly better than the Kia EV6 in many ways and feels more premium. However I had the *exact* issue with the seats (probably same source). No go for me personally, but I highly recommend it. **Genesis GV60**: Now this was a shockingly good car. I liked the polarizing exterior design and the interior was drop dead gorgeous, with details and materials that punch far above its segment. The powertrain was fantastic too with acceptable range and good performance. The Advanced Trim is the sweet spot imo. This was my runner up, despite being the only crossover I considered. **2024 Polestar 2**: Good powertrain and decent cabin tech. It's about $5-10k overpriced but that's what happens when you have such a high tariff against Made in China cars. The car was fun to drive but the packaging was a complete and total disaster. I've never seen a car that size being so cramped inside. I'm 5'9 and 145lbs and yet I always hit my head or my knee on my way getting in. Even inside it feels suffocating. Backseats are extremely uncomfortable and rear headroom is comparable to most 2+2 coupes instead of an actual sedan. Volvo did such a terrible and disappointing job with the whole design and packaging. **BMW i4 M50**: I can't believe I'm saying this, but the i4's exterior has grown on me. The M50 trim, being the top dog, is an incredible"
"We have both the GV60 and an Ioniq 5, the drive of the GV60 is a lot more planted than the Ioniq 5 but comfort wise the Ioniq 5 is better in that its a softer (kinda in a bad way because the rear likes to kick out) and feels a lot more open in the cabin because of the larger sunroof and moveable center console. The GV60 has a lot more physical buttons which I love and the speaker system is a clear cut above the Ioniq. Also welcomed is the addition of wireless CarPlay/Android Auto that is integrated in the instrument panel and HUD in the GV60. But the reason to buy Genesis over Hyundai is to never have to deal with stepping foot in the dealership because they'll come pick up the car and leave you with a loaner to do service."
"Go to "owners.genesis.com"and on the dashboard, click on "Update now" under Map Updates and follow the instructions to download the Navigation Updater Download. You'll need a USB drive and a USB A to USB C converter to upgrade manually from the download. I'm assuming that update should contain everything to bring a car up to date, but I could be wrong. I think I read that if the car doesn't have a minimum software upgrade, that an update may not work. Of course it didn't state what the minimum version of the software it required. Can't recall if that referred only to OTA or both OTA and manual updates. Good luck and let us know how it goes. #### sakerror JoinedMar 27, 2023Messages73Reaction score29Points18LocationSan JoseGenesis Model Year2023Genesis Model TypeGenesis GV60"

"I was a fan of the GV60 when I was shopping a year ago. I loved the size, interior layout and efficient use of space. I eventually went a different direction because, 1) The AWD range was too limited for my needs, and 2) Genesis lease deals were non-competitive. I got a BMW iX for not much more per month, and it's a different class of car although a bit bigger than I'd like."
