2025 Audi S e-tron GT (21-inch wheels): the score gets it into the conversation; battery and service records decide whether to make an offer.
Score read
A 71/100 makes this a paperwork-and-test-drive decision. Build quality score is the cleaner read at 100/100; range and efficiency score needs more diligence at 36/100. Owners on Reddit repeatedly cite range and owner satisfaction as recurring problems. A clean VIN lookup matters more than the headline count.
Price context
This trim started from $125,500 new. Used examples have come down since launch, but pricing varies by miles, condition, and how the model is moving right now; pull a current KBB Fair Purchase, an Edmunds True Market Value, or an active dealer listing for this exact trim, and anchor your offer there. Walk if the seller will not move off new-car-style pricing.

Gotchas
- Serviceable Recall paperwork has to match the exact VIN.
Mitigation Use NHTSA and the automaker lookup, then require repair records instead of a verbal promise.
- Built in Range is the easy place to overbuy this trim (36/100).
Mitigation Check your commute, winter margin, and fast-charge plan before you assume the EPA number fits your use.
- Verify Current market pricing is not confirmed well enough for this trim.
Mitigation Compare KBB, J.D. Power, and live listings for the same trim before treating price as a buying signal.
Pre-purchase inspection
- 1 Run the exact VIN through NHTSA and the automaker recall lookup before discussing price.
- 2 Compare the dashboard range estimate with the EPA 294-mile rating after a full charge.
- 3 Confirm how much of the 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty remains and whether it transfers.
- 4 If road trips matter, run a short DC fast-charge session and watch whether speed tapers normally.
- 5 Map your normal highway route and winter margin against the EPA range before you treat it as a road-trip car.

Source & disclaimer
Dealers make ~$25,991 on the average car loan.
After the price is set, the finance manager runs four plays to rebuild margin. Every buyer without a pre-approval is a target. Here's exactly what they run — and what stops each one.
78% of dealer loans carry a hidden +1.13% markup above what the lender actually charges. You never see it — it's buried in the contract. · CFPB
Dealer must match or beat your lender — they can't add margin invisibly. The markup play is dead on arrival.
Once you answer, they stretch the term to hit your number. Median result: $4K less off the price, 12 more months on the loan. · Industry avg
Financing is done. Only the sale price is on the table — and the dealer knows it.
Back-office F&I profit averages $1,975/vehicle, up 8.5% YoY. These products exist — but dealer markup is 4–10x what you'd pay elsewhere. · Dealership Guy
Dealer GAP runs $500–1K. Your insurer sells the same coverage for $100–250 over 5 years. Now you know.
"Your loan fell through — come re-sign." This pulls your APR up +5% on average. It's legal. It works because you've already driven the car home. · Ctr for Responsible Lending
A lender commitment letter means the deal is final. "Pending dealer approval" doesn't apply. You can't be yo-yo'd.
That's 14 months of your car payment — handed to the dealer's finance department for nothing.
Takes 2 minutes. No obligation to use it — but you'll walk in with all the leverage.
Pre-approval is a soft credit inquiry — no score impact. FICO treats all auto-loan hard pulls within 14 days as one, so you can still shop rates at the dealer.

What Owners Are Saying
"It explains what I am seeing. I got a good deal on a 2019 Prestige Plus with the "really big" wheels, and liked it so much, I got a second 2021 Premium with the "kinda big but not as big" wheels. Not only is the range longer, but it feels faster and handles better. Both have the air suspension. I assumed it was mostly the different sized wheels, but I was surprised it was as pronounced as it was. I am sure there were other factors, but it has me thinking about smaller wheels on the 2019 when I need the next tire upgrade. Is reprogramming the car for a different wheel size a big deal? #11· 2h ago - Arial - Book Antiqua - Courier New - Georgia - Tahoma - Times New Roman - Trebuchet MS - Verdana Post Reply Audi e-tron GT General Discussion Forum sigil6 Oct 27, 2022"

"High Voltage Battery Module(s)") Oh boy, just recieved another recall from Audi Canada for my RS Etron GT "Safety Recall 93VN- High Voltage Battery Module; Transport Canada recall: 2024-189" dated May 2024. Looks like few high voltgae batteries experiencing short circuits within the battery modules, which can cause overheating... 43.5KRashwan replied Jun 11, 2024 Audi e-tron GT General Discussion Forum Maverick Nov 15, 2024 High pitch sound 30-40kmh Hello. Is anyone else hearing this from their Etron GT? It happens when accelerating and braking between 30-40kmh. It’s a high pitched noise. Audi is telling me that it’s normal but it drives me crazy and wasn’t happening when I first picked up the car. It started about a year in."
"#7· 8h ago Would like 19s, but will settle for 20s. Still reading forums and researching for a good offset that requires a small spacer or none at all. I know that Audi SUVs run a 66.5mm center bore and I have found many local Q5 and Q7 take-offs on marketplace and Craigslist. Problem is that most sellers don't know the offset or are too lazy to take another photo of the inside of their wheel, even if it means a sell. I have my own tire changer and balancer (use to service a fleet) so, why settle on one set of wheels? #5· 8h ago #6· 8h ago My 2021 gets 180 miles at 80% charge here in Florida. Issue is fundamentally battery chemistry and can't be fixed. German vehicles, except Tesla, get 20-40% less range for a host of reasons. Software, batteries, design etc. Legacy manufacturers cannot compete with EV only companies."
"Very high power consumption over short distances In my GT e-tron, I have a problem with very high power consumption on short journeys. The road from home to work is very short (3 km). Often driving around the city, I also use the car for distances of about 5 km. In these sections the car consumes between 37kWh and 42kWh. I drive very slowly... 135.9Kace10 replied Jan 17, 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron General Discussion Forum josef.ladra Dec 4, 2023 Consumption How are you doing with consumption in winter? Now it was -10 °C, and around the city, it was 33 kWh/100 km, which seems a lot to me. I think the heat pump is no longer working, and only the electric heater is working."
