Buyer brief · 246 words

The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally packs 480 hp, 265 miles of EPA range and a 91 kWh battery, and the score gets it into the conversation; battery and service records decide whether to make an offer.

Score read

A 70/100 makes this a paperwork-and-test-drive decision. Do not let the composite hide this split: build quality score is 84/100, while range and efficiency score is 37/100. Owners on Reddit repeatedly cite software tech and owner satisfaction as recurring problems. Documented completion matters more than the recall count itself.

Bargain hunter Best TCO, reliability + low depreciation

Gotchas

  • Serviceable Recall paperwork has to match the exact VIN.

Mitigation Use NHTSA and the automaker lookup, then require repair records instead of a verbal promise.

  • Built in Range is the easy place to overbuy this trim (37/100).

Mitigation Check your commute, winter margin, and fast-charge plan before you assume the EPA number fits your use.

Pre-purchase inspection

  • 1 Run the exact VIN through NHTSA and the automaker recall lookup before discussing price.
  • 2 Compare the dashboard range estimate with the EPA 265-mile rating after a full charge.
  • 3 Confirm how much of the 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty remains and whether it transfers.
  • 4 If road trips matter, run a short DC fast-charge session and watch whether speed tapers normally.
  • 5 Map your normal highway route and winter margin against the EPA range before you treat it as a road-trip car.

Dash completely turned off. We could not see speed, gear, battery life, etc. See attached photo of the dash board above the steering wheel. Tried turning car off and on, tried resetting the monitor. Dealership service advisor witnessed this. The technician could not replicate it, and they did not have a solution but it is now back on. Worried it may happen again, opened up a buy back claim but dealership thinks we don’t have a strong case since they couldn’t find anything.

Summary: My 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT has repeatedly experienced a complete and unexpected loss of propulsion while driving in active traffic. Each time, the vehicle displayed a red “Stop Safely Now” warning with additional critical alerts, followed by an immediate loss of forward motion with no prior indication. This left the vehicle stalled in traffic and created a significant safety hazard. Details of Each Incident: While driving under normal conditions or coming to a stop, the vehicle triggered the red “Stop Safely Now” alert with powertrain and brake warnings. Propulsion shut down instantly and the vehicle locked in Park, leaving it immobilized in traffic lane. I had to exit the vehicle and wait for it to complete a full power-down cycle before it would restart. After restarting, the vehicle operated with reduced functionality and limited range. Ford Roadside Assistance was contacted for every incident. Safety Concern: A sudden loss of forward motion in moving traffic poses a serious crash risk to me and to other drivers. The repeated nature of this failure suggests a defect in the propulsion system, sensors, electrical components or related modules. Current Status: The vehicle is now at the local Ford dealership for evaluation. I have also notified Ford Corporate Customer Care. The root cause has not yet been identified or resolved. Requested Action: I request that NHTSA document this complaint and consider further review due to the recurring safety-related failure and the potential risk to other owners.

I traded in my vehicle and purchased a new vehicle on September 27, 2025. After signing the contract, I was informed that there were two recalls on the vehicle that would be taken care of by the end of the day. I was allowed to use my trade-in as a loaner vehicle until the end of the day when I came back. It has been almost a full month and I still have not received possession of my new vehicle. There is no estimated date of the dealership receiving the part to repair the recall. I was told that things haven’t been the same since Covid so nobody knows how long it will take. I have been able to use my trade-in, which was paid off by the dealership, as a loaner, but I want my new vehicle or I want to know my options for looking for another car. I will be making my second payment on my new vehicle, which I have not had, in one day.

I noticed that I kept receiving a low tire pressure warning on my car. I would have it filled and then a few days later, the warning appeared again. I took the car in to the dealership to let them know there is an issue with my tire on 11/24/2025. The dealership then stated that I had to pay for a replacement tire. I asked if there was any type of warranty on the tire as I have only had the vehicle for a few months. They stated I had to purchase a new tire. I do not feel that I should pay for a defected tire. I have not driven the vehicle due to safety and want help in resolving this issue as the defect should be covered.

"" The Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally truly surprised me. Just as Rudolph surprised Santa Claus on that fateful day. Ostracized by the Mustang community for being an inauthentic ruse, the Mach-E Rally showed me the light—it showed me that an EV which refuses to sacrifice comfort and convenience can still be extremely charismatic and emotionally driven. It is not simply a “white good” as so many EVs are, like a microwave or a refrigerator. No, the Mach-E Rally is the perfect EV for people who fundamentally dislike EVs. This should perhaps be the EV of choice for people (like me) who are disgusted by the idea of full self-driving and autopilot modes, and refuse to sacrifice the joy in life for the sake of electrified peace of mind and ease of use. The Mach-E Rally lets you have your Christmas cake and eat it, too. " You must log in or register to reply here. "Torn between the GT 25 and Toyota BZ limited As the title says, I am looking to purchase either a Toyota BZ limited 2026 or a Ford mustang Mach E GT 2025. Price of the mach E ends up being a little high than a tricked out limited bz. I was able to test drive a BZ awd yesterday and I must say it is very nice and a good iteration on the bz4x. I am strongly considering the BZ since it is a Toyota and potentially more reliable. The Mach E of course is much sportier and drives more fun. It was what I have been wanting to get this whole time but feel I have to do the due diligence and look at all the other brands. The BZ is the only other EV I would get. The lexus looks nice but I would rather have toyota. Cant decide what to go with since the BZ seems like a solid, safe choice. The Mach e is a solid, fun choice. From scouring this sub and the bz one, ford seems to have some better tech. The bz is a very comfortable and soft ride. The mach e is a much less cushy drive but handles super well. The GT model has adjustable suspension and drives a bit more comfortable, maybe slightly less than the bz in whisper mode and is a sports car feel in the other two modes. I feel like like I will love both cars and would be happy with either. The bz seems like it would have less random issues such as having normal door handles. Sorry for the rambling. Tough decisions. What would you go with, money not being an issue since it is a gift? I am also wondering if anyone knows better about the warranties on a 2025 gt, especially the battery warranty for 8 years and 100k miles. Does that on"

"Ford Mustang Mach-E breaks Guinness World Record after 569 mile-trip on a single charge While I'm more for creature comforts and charging more myself (crank the AC/heat, use the USB ports, etc.) the article is interesting about how far the guy went with a MME, and below the link is some pointers to maximize range. **Article**: Ford Mustang Mach-E breaks Guinness World Record after 569 mile-trip on a single charge **Hypermiling 101: Maximizing Electric Vehicle Range** **1. Gentle Acceleration:** Electric vehicles, particularly performance-focused vehicles like the Mustang Mach-E, can deliver near instant torque with a single press of the accelerator pedal, making it tempting to accelerate aggressively. However, this can significantly reduce range. To maximize range, drivers should adopt a gentle approach, gradually increasing momentum to reach the desired speed. Hard acceleration consumes energy, ultimately diminishing the vehicle's overall range. **2. Utilize Regenerative Braking:** One of the key advantages of electric vehicles is regenerative braking. This system captures kinetic energy during deceleration and converts it back into usable electricity, effectively extending the car's range. By utilizing regenerative braking and one pedal drive, drivers minimize the need for traditional braking, further enhancing efficiency. **3. Tire Selection and Pressure:** Tire selection and pressure plays a crucial role in optimizing range. Choosing tires with low rolling r"

"WTF is going on with Ford? I'm ready to get rid of this thing. I've never had any device I've ever owned brick from an update and now my car has twice on back to back updates. It still won't go into neutral so it's going to be a giant mess trying to skate and dolly it out of my garage. Is there anything I can do about giving this back to Ford? First NameLeeJoinedJul 16, 2021Threads261Messages11,300Reaction score24,834LocationWisconsinVehicles You should be able to jump start it (with jumper cables) to power the 12V enough to get it into neutral. Perhaps you could park another running car next to it and hook up the cables? Using a high-powered battery charger is another option, however, those are less likely to be successful since most battery chargers can’t put out enough current for the inrush during starting, and if the battery has failed again, it might not hold a charge."

"I've not been impressed with my 24 MME body panel fitment/alignment, but then again - as I observe on ALL other makes/models of cars of recent manufacture - it seems to be the norm. Most other newer cars have varying gaps here and there. Fitment quality seems to have gotten looser over the last decade or so, maybe even longer. I'm an aerospace Quality Engineer (sorry, was, I'm retired now) and accustomed to typical aerospace design standard tolerances of +/- .030 (less than a millimeter), and many are much tighter (+.005/-.000). That's unrealistic out in the rest of the world but I cringe when I see workmanship quality like what you're experiencing and wonder, 'don't these workers SEE that? don't they CARE?' And then, somebody has to sign off on repairs, don't THEY see that, don't THEY care? <sigh> Don't get me started....oops, too late. And lest you feel alone, let me share that I have my own similar mismatch on my MME (24 Premium AWD). And this is FROM THE FACTORY! I had a scratch repaired back in February by a local Ford dealership with an excellent body/paint shop - a rarity nowadays - and they said they could TRY to readjust the liftgate for a better alignment, but I didn't see how it could be adjusted out without throwing it off somewhere else, so I begged off. I'll live with it. And I see the same mismatch on other MMEs in my travels about, so mine isn't just a one-off."
