The 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 Plus packs 298 miles of EPA range, 170 kW fast charging and a 86 kWh battery, and a worth-pursuing score, but only after a hard inspection and a fair price.
Score read
A 69/100 makes this a records-first inspection. Do not let the composite hide this split: software and driver-assist score is 100/100, while range and efficiency score is 43/100. On Reddit, owners keep flagging the same two issues: software tech and build quality. Documented completion matters more than the recall count itself.
Price context
The original sticker was $74,900. Used pricing varies by miles, condition, and how this model is moving in the market; pull a current KBB Fair Purchase or Edmunds True Market Value for this exact trim and anchor your offer there, not the sticker.

- $ Bargain hunter Best TCO, reliability + low depreciation
Gotchas
- Serviceable Recall paperwork has to match the exact VIN.
Mitigation Use NHTSA and the automaker lookup, then require repair records instead of a verbal promise.
- Built in Range is the easy place to overbuy this trim (43/100).
Mitigation Check your commute, winter margin, and fast-charge plan before you assume the EPA number fits your use.
- Verify Current market pricing is not confirmed well enough for this trim.
Mitigation Compare KBB, J.D. Power, and live listings for the same trim before treating price as a buying signal.
Pre-purchase inspection
- 1 Run the exact VIN through NHTSA and the automaker recall lookup before discussing price.
- 2 Compare the dashboard range estimate with the EPA 298-mile rating after a full charge.
- 3 Confirm how much of the 10-year/155,000-mile battery warranty remains and whether it transfers.
- 4 If road trips matter, run a short DC fast-charge session and watch whether speed tapers normally.
- 5 Map your normal highway route and winter margin against the EPA range before you treat it as a road-trip car.

Dealers make ~$14,193 on the average car loan.
After the price is set, the finance manager runs four plays to rebuild margin. Every buyer without a pre-approval is a target. Here's exactly what they run — and what stops each one.

The vehicle experienced repeated electrical wiring harness damage in the lighting, tire and connector areas due to exposed and insufficiently protected wiring near socket terminations. On two separate service visits, authorized dealership technicians confirmed that rodents chewed through multiple exposed wires. The affected wiring involves critical electrical systems. The connectors lack adequate shielding, loom, or protective insulation at exposed termination points. The insulation ends before the connector, leaving conductors vulnerable to environmental exposure and rodent access. Warning indicators illuminated on the dashboard, and the vehicle required dealer repair on both occasions. The damaged wiring was inspected and confirmed by certified technicians and is available for inspection upon request. This condition presents a significant safety risk. If a rodent partially damages a wire connected to braking systems, steering systems, high-voltage components, sensors, or engine control systems, failure could occur while the vehicle is in motion. A sudden loss of power, interruption of propulsion, or malfunction of safety systems at highway speeds could increase the risk of a crash. Because this is an electric vehicle, sudden electrical interruption may result in complete loss of propulsion or charging capability. If such failure occurs in remote areas, at night, or in extreme weather conditions, occupants could be left stranded in potentially hazardous situations. This issue has occurred more than once, and no permanent preventive solution has been provided. The design appears to leave critical wiring insufficiently protected from foreseeable environmental and rodent exposure, creating an ongoing safety hazard. I request review of whether the wiring design provides adequate protection for safety-related electrical systems.

Twice, the car has autonomously braked when there was no threat to the car. The first time we were subsequently rear ended, though fortunately at low speed. There was cosmetic damage to the bumpers of both cars and the occupants were shaken up, but not injured. The second time the were driving at about 35mph when the car slammed on the brakes. Fortunately the following vehicle was not close and there was no collision. The occupants were again shaken up, but not injured. The "braking assistance" can be disabled, but only for the current trip. It is automatically reenabled the next time the car is started.

While driving at freeway speed, the panoramic sunroof on my 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 suddenly shattered without any impact, debris, or warning. Glass fell into the vehicle. This was a serious safety hazard. Mercedes-Benz denied warranty coverage. An independent insurance adjuster inspected the vehicle and determined the cause was defective glass, not external damage. This appears to be a manufacturing defect involving spontaneous sunroof shattering.

The panoramic sunroof on the vehicle just expoded and shatter for no apparent reason, sending pieces of glass on the sunroof sun screen. Sounded like a shotgun blast when this occured. It occured on 10/23/25 at 2:00 in the afternoon while driving on a side street in my neighboorhood. Vehicle taken to dealership on 10/24/25 for repair, dealer would not acknowledge a failure with the sunroof glass, but could not find what caused the damaged and blamed in on a rock. This glass was not damaged and literally exploded when the incident occured and no other vehicles were near by.

On [XXX] around [XXX] while driving my 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE350 [XXX] near Santa Clarita, CA, I experienced a flat tire due to a 4 mm puncture in the center tread of the rear driver's side tire. I immediately contacted Mercedes Me customer support, and the representative advised me that my vehicle's run-flat tire system would allow me to continue driving up to 50 miles, as long as I stayed under 50 mph. I followed this guidance very cautiously, driving under 30 mph. Despite this, the tire completely blew out in less than10 miles. The road conditions were normal, the tire was in good condition prior to the incident, and weather was mild. This incident endangered my safety and that of my wife and our toddler, who were in the vehicle with me at the time and was extremely frightened by the sudden blowout. I believe the run-flat system failed to perform as expected and/or the advice I received from Mercedes Me was unsafe and caused more damage to my vehicle and put my family in more danger. I am submitting this report in case other Mercedes EQE owners experience similar failures. I request that NHTSA investigate whether this represents a design flaw or safety hazard in the vehicle's tire/run-flat system? "Looking for EV or PHEV SUV Lease – Florida (Open to Brokers or Dealer Referrals). Looking for EV or PHEV SUV Lease – Florida (Open to Brokers or Dealer Referrals) Hi everyone, I’m based in Florida and currently looking to lease an EV or plug-in hybrid SUV. I’m open to anything comparable to the Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+, but I’ve already ruled out the EQB, as it’s too small for my needs. Here’s what I’ve run into so far: • Broward County is mostly AutoNation dealerships, and none of them are willing to negotiate. • Miami dealers are also primarily AutoNation and just as inflexible. • Bonita Springs quoted me over $1,400/month (36 months / 12k miles) for a 2025 EQE 350+ SUV—far too high. • Some dealers are even saying Mercedes is no longer leasing 2024 models, which makes things even more challenging. I’m open to: • 2024 or 2025 Mercedes-Benz EVs or PHEVs • Loaner/demo vehicles are absolutely fine. • Other vehicles in the same class • So far, MB seems to have the most aggressive lease programs. • Deals anywhere in Florida If you’ve recently secured a fair lease, or can recommend a reliable broker who’s gotten solid results in this market, I’d really appreciate your insight. Feel free to DM me or drop a contact. Thanks in advance!"
"> ScottC said: > > run the battery down to something less than 20% and leave it sit overnight. > > It says to do this every 6 months in my EQE SUV manual, but doesn't explain why. It's been discussed in this forum and another forum as to why MB asks you to do this. Totally not clear to me, but it has been suggested that it re-sets the BMS (battery management system). > > > Click to expand... It's not clear to me either, but the two theories I've seen discussed are 1) it does a low cell balance while resting or 2) it allows a more precise measurement of low SoC open-circuit cell voltage which in turn allows better cell balancing during the next charge. Out of the two, I probably lean towards #2 but it doesn't really matter. If either of those two theories are correct then the net result is you're soon going to end up with a better balanced pack as a result of following the advice. TI have some great papers on cell balancing, but the bottom line is the effective capacity of the battery is reduced while the cells are out of balance. It's not a permanent degradation but rather a temporary condition until they're brought back into balance."

"#5· Apr 9, 2026 #3· Apr 9, 2026 I had the coolant level low warning a couple of months ago, similar mileage. My dealer said just come over anytime and have it topped up for free. It took about 30 minutes. The software update is unrelated and possibly a regulatory one. Getting them to apply MBUX updates is like pulling teeth. The sound you are hearing at low speeds is the pedestrian warning sound to alert them about the presence of the vehicle. It cannot be turned off. #4· Apr 9, 2026 @ScottC thanks for the quick response. The sound I hear is more like a grinding noise & it is constant.
