Passenger side map light activates and locks on for no reason. This can be particularly disruptive at night. The only way to switch off the light is by cycling the dome lights disruptive and dangerous at night. Light may still activate and lock on for no reason.

My Volvo XC40 front sunroof cracked wavy crack across front in internal glass. There was frozen ice on top of car which I left alone because of the glass roof underneath. When driving home today from work a huge chunk of ice lifted off top of car and the sunroof cracked internally across the front glass. I heard it crack. I am reporting this because apparently this is not an isolated issue. Many others I've discovered have had their panoramic sunroofs cracked and fail with no inciting incident on XC40Forum.com and apparently Volvo is not admitting to failure but telling owners there must have been something that hit the roof which hasn't been owners' experiences. If the sunroof is cracked and fails it can break off glass ultimately and cause others harm on the road.

"Volvo C40 MY2024: Failure Hi all, I’ve just had a terrifying experience, which has made me second guess EV ownership. My brakes failed at 55mph approaching a roundabout, leading to both the pedal and parking brake not working, then the power steering failing - had to scramble around two more roundabouts without brakes and find an uphill stretch of road to get it to a natural stop with many cars around. Neither Volvo assistance team / the recovery team have never seen this before. I managed to get an emergency booking at the local Volvo dealership where they have taken it in and will will carry out diagnostics on Monday. The current thought process is that a silent OTA update today was corrupted - find this incredibly disconcerting as there was no prior warning and the car has done < 10,000 miles and has been driving fine up until now. Really hammered home how much we at the mercy of technology in these EV’s. I would urge anyone with the same model / model year to proactively get their software reviewed so that the same thing doesn’t happen again. Thanks,"

Such a silly, simple thing but so necessary when rushing around trying to get to appointments on time. The time in the middle is also too small to glance at easily while driving. "The owners communities have decided my next EV So, in Australia we have fewer options than the rest of the world. But now there's a lot more mature options, a bit more spread, a bit more infrastructure, and the fact that I'm driving a hell of a lot more to go to work and back, the fuel savings have finally tipped. I wanted something that would either be useful, can use to tow a trailer to the tip (garbage dump, refuse centre, etc) occasionally. Something that had a bit of punch (likely a dual motor) Had 400km of range (I do 130km round trip to work daily, as I'm driving from where I live rural, into the city outskirts) (Also of note, the average Australian drives only 36km per day, that's a single round trip of 18km, so I'm doing around 130km a day I'm doing more than 3.5x average kilometres) Then I wanted to do some mods, simple ones: 1) Set of spotlights, because I already have a decent set that I paid good money for that can shoot around 800m/0.5 miles 2) Close enough tyre size to some decent all terrains, mild all terrains, but all terrains 3) Towbar 4) Sunroof would be nice 5) Good sized froot that wasn't an afterthought 6) Can fit a half decent pram in the boot if we do have kids From there, it narrowed me down to probably 4 options: 1) Tesla Model 3 P - $98,875 AUD 2) Polestar 2 PPP (Plus, Pilot, Performance) - $104,967.05 3) Volvo C40 Recharge - $89,370 4) Volvo XC40 Recharge - $86,849 I had considered the Model Y, but the 2 things that turned me off were the very harsh ride of the suspension, and unlike the Model 3, you couldn't adjust the streng"
