2025 Nissan ARIYA PLATINUM+ e-4ORCE 87kWh 19in. Wheels: a mid-pack composite means the records-and-test-drive call matters more than the headline.

Score read

A 71/100 makes this worth comparing, not chasing. Do not let the composite hide this split: software and driver-assist score is 100/100, while range and efficiency score is 37/100. Reddit threads cluster around software tech and range — verify both against the service records. The remaining risk is ordinary used-car diligence: battery report, tires, title, and records.

Price context

This trim started from $54,370 new. Used examples have come down since launch, but pricing varies by miles, condition, and how the model is moving right now; pull a current KBB Fair Purchase, an Edmunds True Market Value, or an active dealer listing for this exact trim, and anchor your offer there. Walk if the seller will not move off new-car-style pricing.

Gotchas

  • Built in Range is the easy place to overbuy this trim (37/100).

Mitigation Check your commute, winter margin, and fast-charge plan before you assume the EPA number fits your use.

  • Verify Current market pricing is not confirmed well enough for this trim.

Mitigation Compare KBB, J.D. Power, and live listings for the same trim before treating price as a buying signal.

Pre-purchase inspection

  • 1 Compare the dashboard range estimate with the EPA 267-mile rating after a full charge.
  • 2 Confirm how much of the 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty remains and whether it transfers.
  • 3 If road trips matter, run a short DC fast-charge session and watch whether speed tapers normally.
  • 4 Map your normal highway route and winter margin against the EPA range before you treat it as a road-trip car.
  • 5 Review title, service history, tire condition, and charging-equipment records before final price.

The Financing Room · What Actually Happens

Dealers make ~$10,552 on the average car loan.

After the price is set, the finance manager runs four plays to rebuild margin. Every buyer without a pre-approval is a target. Here's exactly what they run — and what stops each one.

01 · Without pre-approval

Rate markup

78% of dealer loans carry a hidden +1.13% markup above what the lender actually charges. You never see it — it's buried in the contract. · CFPB

Dealer must match or beat your lender — they can't add margin invisibly. The markup play is dead on arrival.

3 days after purchasing the vehicle the forward collision warning light and rear cross traffic light came on. The forward collision light warning also came and and deactivated my cruise controls. It was taken back to the dealer for a diagnostic which was unsuccessful and did not show any errors. The car was given back to us and 3 days later while my wife was taking the kids to school, the same errors occurred plus the dashboard went dark, and the driver's seat inflating back rest started to inflate and deflate. The car was taken back to the dealer and has been there for close to a week. I was given a call by the Nissan Service Representative stating that they will be replacing the forward assist part.

While charging my 2025 Nissan Ariya at an Electrify America DC fast charger, the vehicle failed to complete the charging “handoff” between the charger and the car. The charging station instructed me to disconnect and reconnect, but after multiple attempts, the system failed to establish a proper connection. Immediately after this, the entire vehicle shut down and became completely inoperable. This was the third occurrence of the same system failure since purchase, despite the vehicle having only ~11,377 miles. I contacted Nissan Roadside Assistance, and the vehicle had to be towed. The service technician at the selling dealer (Findlay Nissan, Henderson, NV) stated that another 2025 Ariya was towed from the same Electrify America location one day prior for the exact same issue. The dealer confirmed that the vehicle required a technician reset to restart the system but stated that this was not covered under warranty. A Nissan technician informally advised me to document and report this issue immediately due to repeated failures related to DC fast charging.

We pulled up to an EVGO Charging station with 27% battery charge & 57 miles available. When we hooked up to the charging station it didn't recognize the vehicle & advised to detach & reconnect. We repeated this step 5 times before calling EVGO customer support. They rebooted the charging station & discovered it was the vehicle malfunctioning. My 2025 with only 764 miles on it read EV System Off. The entire car is an EV & it would not start. We couldn't move the vehicle out of the way for others to charge so they parked as close as they could to use the charging station. I contacted Nissan customer support for a tow and AAA called me back charging me $533.50 to tow directly to Riverside Service department to honor the extended warranty. 3hrs later I called AAA back waiting to be picked up & I was informed that they were not responsible for transporting people. We got stranded in Baker with my [XXX] mom with [XXX] & my [XXX] son for 8 hrs because no rideshare would pick up the fair. We had to contact our daughter in Vegas to pick us up to take us home in Riverside CA 232 miles one way arriving at 1am. For 2 days Nissan did not contact me so I had to show up in person to verify my vehicle was there. The service manager made every excuse for the car breaking down to avoid liability. He first blamed the EVGO charging station & then tried to convince me it was just a 12volt dead battery saying I can take the car back the same day to avoid a buy back due to the Lemon Law. The car wouldn't charge to run a diagnostic so he loaned me a rental. He told AAA that the car was a buyback to approve repairs for the damage the tow did when transporting the car to Riverside Nissan. The service manager made this the issue instead of the EV System Off Mechanical failure. After the Damage was approved the same day Nissan called me to pick up my car without ever giving me a diagnostic for why it shut down. Nissan lied to AAA & tried charging me a $35 daily rental fee. Component or system that failed: Electric Drive System / Charging System / Software – repeated failure displaying “EV System Off” message, rendering vehicle inoperable. Description of incident: This is the second time within 30 days that my 2025 Nissan Ariya (VIN: [XXX] ) has completely shut down and become undriveable. On [XXX], while attempting to use a DC fast charger at Electrify America (1150 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV), the vehicle failed to begin charging. After a few attempts, the dash displayed “EV System Off” and the car could not be restarted or shifted into gear. It had to be towed again — same as the incident on [XXX], which occurred under nearly identical circumstances. Safety risk: This failure left me stranded twice, with no warning or ability to drive. Had this happened on a freeway or in a rural area, it could have been dangerous. The dealer has only reset the vehicle each time with no resolution. Reproduction and inspection: The issue was inspected by Findlay Nissan Henderson. They stated that other Ariya owners have reported similar failures, especially after using Electrify America stations, and implied it may be a compatibility issue — yet this is not publicly disclosed by Nissan. I have charged successfully at Electrify America many times before, and the same charger worked immediately after my failure. Warning signs: No warning lights appeared before the failure. The “EV System Off” message appeared suddenly after connecting to the charger. Summary: This is a critical systems failure that recurs, impacts safety, and limits reliable use of the vehicle. I request this be formally investigated for a potential design or software flaw. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2025 Nissan Ariya We were driving on the highway with no cars in front of us. The moonroof shattered with a loud bang. No rocks were observed since there were no cars in front of us and a tree line between the traffic in the opposite direction. Moon roof did not crack but rather exploded into thousands of tiny pieces covering the driver's face, hair, hands and body. Passenger seat was unoccupied but it was covered in thousands of pieces. Manufacturers should not make glass that is not laminated and will shatter like that. Since we did not observe the rock, we are questioning if this is a manufacturing defect. The glass seems to have exploded outwardly and not inside of the vehicle. You can see the edges of the glass facing up on the pictures.

"Are you satisfied with Ariya winter range? I tested 3 dozen Ariyas and found they hold 83% of max range in freezing temps. That's pretty good IMO. (Real world driving so a blend of driving styles, conditions, etc.)"

"It would be great if they would get rid of the Alexa widget and its annoying reminder when it thinks I am talking to it. #16· Mar 19, 2026 They sent out a notification a few months ago that it was being discontinued. You can go into the widget settings and delete it from view then you don't have to worry about it. #18· Apr 7, 2026\\ \\ \\ (Edited) Well, well, well..I just received another OTA software update from Nissan! It wasn't a map update because the 16\_16 hasn't changed. I looked up what type of software it was after I downloaded it and it was blank. It only said Software Update History 5. I'm guessing a firmware update maybe?🤔 But no matter, it was another software update, so eat your heart out, Maxtog.😆 Keep 'em coming, Nissan.😁👍🏾"

"Ariya not charging? So I just got a 2023 Nissan Ariya Evolve+ e-4orce AWD and am not having an easy time charging outside of home. None of the CCS chargers work, they all say there’s an error and every single time, the charger gets stuck in my car so I have to lock and unlock my car like 5-6 times to get it to disconnect and just today I gave up on finding a level 3 charger that worked and now the level 2 charger says there’s an error. Wondering if anyone has experienced an issue as such…"

I already did that. I should have mentioned the first time I powered up the Ariya after the update the center touch screen was frozen up! I shouldn't have to reset it everytime I get back in the vehicle LOL #7· Mar 10, 2026 One interesting factor: My car is normally in my garage, about 20 feet (6.1 m) from where I keep my cellphone. Thus, it is within Bluetooth range. The phone constantly reminds me that it is connected to Android Auto, even though the car is turned off. I just checked, the Bluetooth-UBS adapter is powered on even thought the car is turned off. It may be the adapter is getting screwed up in this state. Then, when I turn the car on and Android Auto starts up it's initiation process with the info system, things go awry."

"Well our stable software was replaced with buggy software. Just posting this in case anyone else is experiencing the same issues or experiencing something different. Android auto call hang up "button" not working Satellite radio gets stuck searching for signal even though its still streaming OK. FM radio becomes the default when vehicle is powered back on (seems random so far and this makes me think we've got a different problem maybe) #2· Mar 8, 2026 > knightarmor said: > > Well our stable software was replaced with buggy software. Rain sensor has always been way too aggressive for me, so I never use it. I mostly just wipe manually. "My first question is, is this normal? Does this compare to what others have? The dealership says this is as expected, but I feel like this is way less than others get with other EVs (i don't know any one else with an Ariya). I also hooked up Car Scanner, which reports a full battery to be 74kW with a 99.99% SoH. Is this normal? The dealership couldn't even tell me why it's 74kW there, he said to call Nissan Canada and pray."
