The 2023 Hyundai Kona Electric puts down 201 hp, 258 miles of EPA range and a 62 kWh battery, and a do-not-drive recall is in play, so VIN status comes before everything else.
Score read
A 67/100 makes this a records-first inspection. The useful split is software and driver-assist score at 86/100 versus range and efficiency score at 52/100. On Reddit, owners keep flagging the same two issues: software tech and range. If the seller cannot show recall completion, price that risk or move on.
Price context
Used examples are running around $22,772. Treat that as a budgeting floor, not a final price; pull a current KBB Fair Purchase or Edmunds True Market Value for this exact trim before negotiating.

Pre-purchase inspection
- 1 Run the exact VIN through NHTSA and the automaker recall lookup before discussing price.
- 2 Compare the dashboard range estimate with the EPA 258-mile rating after a full charge.
- 3 Confirm how much of the 10-year/100,000-mile battery warranty remains and whether it transfers.
- 4 If road trips matter, run a short DC fast-charge session and watch whether speed tapers normally.
- 5 Map your normal highway route and winter margin against the EPA range before you treat it as a road-trip car.

Dealers make ~$7,268 on the average car loan.
After the price is set, the finance manager runs four plays to rebuild margin. Every buyer without a pre-approval is a target. Here's exactly what they run — and what stops each one.
78% of dealer loans carry a hidden +1.13% markup above what the lender actually charges. You never see it — it's buried in the contract. · CFPB
Dealer must match or beat your lender — they can't add margin invisibly. The markup play is dead on arrival.
Once you answer, they stretch the term to hit your number. Median result: $4K less off the price, 12 more months on the loan. · Industry avg
Financing is done. Only the sale price is on the table — and the dealer knows it.
Back-office F&I profit averages $1,975/vehicle, up 8.5% YoY. These products exist — but dealer markup is 4–10x what you'd pay elsewhere. · Dealership Guy
Dealer GAP runs $500–1K. Your insurer sells the same coverage for $100–250 over 5 years. Now you know.
"Your loan fell through — come re-sign." This pulls your APR up +5% on average. It's legal. It works because you've already driven the car home. · Ctr for Responsible Lending
A lender commitment letter means the deal is final. "Pending dealer approval" doesn't apply. You can't be yo-yo'd.
That's 24 months of your car payment — handed to the dealer's finance department for nothing.
Takes 2 minutes. No obligation to use it — but you'll walk in with all the leverage.
Pre-approval is a soft credit inquiry — no score impact. FICO treats all auto-loan hard pulls within 14 days as one, so you can still shop rates at the dealer.

After a routine service visit, the vehicle’s braking and speed‑control systems began to behave abnormally. The ABS/ESC control module was replaced or reprogrammed without documentation, and immediately afterward the vehicle’s braking feel, speed‑control behavior, and forward‑collision warning timing changed noticeably. These changes created a safety risk because the vehicle no longer responded in a predictable way compared to its original performance. The affected components are available for inspection upon request. The issue was reproduced multiple times under normal driving conditions. Braking response became inconsistent, and the speed‑control system no longer behaved as it did before the service. The timing and behavior of forward‑collision alerts also changed compared to pre‑service operation. These changes created unpredictability in traffic, especially during following‑distance adjustments, stop‑and‑go situations, and sudden‑braking scenarios. The dealership did not provide technical documentation or explanation for the module replacement or configuration changes and did not acknowledge the change in system behavior. The manufacturer’s customer service reviewed the case but did not provide technical findings. An independent service center could not verify the original configuration because the manufacturer did not provide the Manufacturer Build Sheet. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. No warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared before or after the issue. The only indication of a problem was the sudden change in braking, speed‑control, and forward‑collision system behavior immediately after the service visit.

The issue is the horn. On three different occasions, I've attempted to use the horn and it wasn't working. I've taken it to Hallmark Hyundai in Flowood and they've repaired and/or replaced the horn on four separate occasions. The new horn is always working when I leave the dealership, but it eventually goes out. Or it goes out for a period of time and then comes back without explanation. My most recent horn outage happened while I was driving on I-55 in Jackson MS and an 18 wheeler started shifting in my lane. I wasn't able to notify them with my horn and ended up having to drive on the shoulder to avoid a collision. This is a major safety issue and they haven't taken the time to remedy it.

Vehicle was service at a Hyundai Dealer for routine required maintenance to continue the warranty. Less than 24 hours later I was driving my special needs, handicap daughter to breakfast and pulled into a handicap parking space and placed my foot on the brake. The pedal seemed to not have any tension and go to the floor. The emergency collision warning went off, but the brakes did not work. The vehicle jumped over a parking curb, knocking over a handicap sign, going across the sidewalk, hitting a garbage can and finally coming to a stop in a brick building.

The horn has quit working - and had to be replaced - on three different occasions. I've owned the car less than two years. This has led to me being unable to warn traffic and almost caused multiple collisions.

Car pulls to the right since I had it..the dealer did a alignment twice already but it still pulls to the right..they did a alignment at around 5000 miles and again at 8000 miles but it still does it.

While driving on the highway on an extended trip my cruise control dropped its speed from 71 to 65 without warning. On one occasion it happened while I was in the passing lane with a lot of traffic behind me. It created a very dangerous situation before I could get into the right lane. Another incident was when again I was driving along, no one in front of me, beside me or behind me and the speed dropped once again. Had I been in traffic who knows what would have happened. I have turned the automatic breaking system off because while on a trip I was in the right lane when a car cut me off. The breaks went on and the car went totally out of control! I have filed a complaint with Hyundai and after waiting 8 weeks for a call regarding my case number they refuse to acknowledge that it is a manufacturing issue. I have had the vehicle into the dealer 3 times and they have not been able to replicate it by driving around the area, but have not taken it out on the highway at a higher speed which is when it occurs and when one would use the cruise control. I have only 9,000 miles on the car at this point and no remedy in sight.

While driving at 60 miles per hour on an interstate, the car's steering system took control of the car and made a quick "S" maneuver. It took all of my strength to maintain control of my car. This incident lasted for just a second or two but it was potentially very dangerous to me (the driver of the car) and to nearby cars (and their drivers). The vehicle is available for inspection. I just reported the incident to to Hyundai and haven't heard back from them. There seemed to be some kind of red warning message on the computer screen, but I couldn't read it because I was so busy fighting the steering wheel for control of the car.

While traveling at 70 mph on the freeway my 2023 Kona with less than 2,000 miles dropped into neutral and lost speed, almost causing a crash. I’m lucky the driver behind me braked in time. The dealer has informed me that the transmission needs to be replaced.

This is the second dangerous situation on the highway. Both were within reasonable speed and distance, and the car couldn't come to a complete stop. This time there was an accident and I hit the car in front of me. I realized the car had a very important brake failure malfunction.

The cruise control on this 2023 Kona has not worked since the day I purchased it. When the cruise control is engaged it will suddenly decelerate, but the cruise still appears engaged. It sometimes then suddenly reaccelerates. This causes traffic to suddenly back up behind me, and also to be in danger in front of me when it reaccelerates rapidly. I informed the dealer immediately of the issue. They advised there was a 2022 in their shop for the exact same issue at 8,000 miles. They asked me to bring mine in, which I have done now three times. That shop now has 4 Konas with the exact same issue, yet they do not have a fix. The Hyundai forum boards are full of this same complaint. I have contacted Hyundai Corporate. They also don’t have a solution, but won’t take back my new vehicle. I have less than 1,000 miles on this Kona - most of that from driving one hour to/from the dealer 3 times. I have been understanding and professional in my dealings with them however, I have run out of patience. I did not get what I paid for and am being asked to put myself/my family in danger driving this vehicle back and forth to this dealer who doesn’t even have a fix.

i was driving at 45mph and a deer came in front of my car. We hit the deer in front of car, deer approximitly 100 lbs no warning like brake sytem lane obstruction or air bags deployed? I bought this car based Hyundai telling me how safe of car it is. When obiously it is not I notified Hyundai america of these things and they said everything worked correctly?

In damp weather the brake rotors corrode overnight. This causes the brakes to lock up when the brake pedal is touched gently. The car then stops quickly and unexpectedly. This could result in the car being rear ended in traffic. This problem has occurred 7 times since I bought the car.

My horn is not working again. It was replaced when I initially got the Kona in 2023. It did not work coming out of the dealership. And now again it is back to not working. This is a liability and also a danger to my children.

Dear Hyundai Motor America Consumer Affairs, I am formally escalating a safety defect involving my 2023 Hyundai Kona, VIN [XXX], purchased [XXX]. Since the purchase, the vehicle’s horn has repeatedly failed. I have brought the car in for service multiple times, and the issue is thoroughly documented in service records and email correspondence. Despite these efforts, the defect has not been permanently resolved. A non-functioning horn is a serious safety issue. This defect is not isolated; identical horn failures in Hyundai Kona vehicles are widely documented across public Internet forums, consumer complaint sites, and owner reports, further underscoring the seriousness of this issue. Given the repeated repair attempts and ongoing safety risk, I am requesting immediate corporate-level review and a clear, permanent resolution. This matter requires prompt attention. [XXX], service manager, informed me today that my horn was changed/serviced 4 times already. As of today, 2-10-2-26 he is ordering me another horn. Please respond in writing with next steps. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My Kona N Line is not functioning well. Especially after driving for a longer period of time. About 60% of the time, upon letting go of my brake, the car jerks. Going from 0 - 5 mph is the worst. The car definitely hesitates many times. Again, it is when I have driven it for over 10 minutes. I took the car to a service department in El Monte, CA on 11/1. They cannot find the problem. They rode with me and it did not show at that time. They released the car to me. The Kona N has a recall but not my car, the Kona N Line. The recall is for the same problem. I am extremely frustrated. I have another appointment on Tuesday of this week to take to the Glendora service department. I don't know what to do. I am not one to complain but this is not safe. This is my fifth Hyundai. Nothing but good cars until now. Please advise. [XXX] [XXX]. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was trapped inside the liftgate of my 2023 Hyundai Kona and was unable to operate the emergency release. I had the key fob with me and the car was unlocked, but the trunk would not open from the inside. I tried sliding a standard key and a flat card into the release, but it would not engage. It was not specified that the mechanical key inside the Hyundai fob was required. The release is a small black sliding latch at the bottom of the liftgate with only a car symbol. It is recessed, not easily visible in low light, and does not glow in the dark. I also could not climb over the rear seats because the liftgate hood was sealed, so the fire department had to open the trunk to get me out. Even the operator and the fire department found the instructions difficult to determine. While this may be a rare circumstance, it could have been dangerous. I was able to get out safely, but it would be helpful if the emergency release were redesigned with clearer instructions or made more visible, such as using neon or glow in the dark markings, so that in the future it can be accessed more easily by anyone inside.

The horn is not working in my vehicle. I found this out today when I almost had someone collide with my vehicle while I was on the highway, not once, but twice. I was unable to use my horn to alert the other driver. I called Hyundai and they said it is not covered under warranty and this is a known issue with my vehicle. I have only had the vehicle for 3-4 months and this should not be happening. I cannot safely drive without a horn and if something happens to me or my vehicle and Hyundai knows its an ongoing issue with this year, make, and model, I am not sure what I can do. Please make this right.

Dear Customer Care, I am the owner of a 2023 Hyundai Kona AWD purchased brand new from Vision Hyundai West Henrietta, NY. I paid for the vehicle in full with a cashier's check totaling over $31,000. At just 64,000 miles, the vehicle has become undrivable-experiencing loud noises, jerking, and no acceleration. I was driving and car would not move. These symptoms are clearly drivetrain-related and should be covered under Hyundai's 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. When I contacted the dealership, I was incorrectly told my roadside coverage had expired at 36,000 miles, Hyundai Warranty Escalation Letters which contradicts Hyundai's stated policy of 5 years/unlimited mileage. Additionally, I requested a loaner vehicle due to the urgency and distance (I'm 80 miles away), but no one followed up, leaving me stranded and without any transportation options. I am requesting Hyundai's assistance:

Additionally, I requested a loaner vehicle due to the urgency and distance (I'm 80 miles away), but no one followed up, leaving me stranded and without any transportation options. I am requesting Hyundai's assistance:
The horn stopped working. The first time, replacing a fuse fixed it, the second time I had to go to the dealership to get the horn replaced under warranty. There were no warning lamps.

The horn has been replaced multiple times for failing without ANY warning. The service department at the Hyundai dealer said that this is a known problem for the horns. The horns short out because moisture builds up and damages the wiring, causing them to fail without warning. At this time, Hyundai does not have a "fix" nor does it have any horns available to replace my failed horn. Hyundai has not offered a loaner vehicle. This vehicle is currently leased from Hyundai and I am current on my lease payments. This vehicle is due for inspection in May 2025 and it will not pass without a horn. I have had several near-miss situations in which I had to brake hard to avoid pedestrians - a horn would have alerted the pedestrians to my presence. Because this is an electric vehicle it runs very quietly and pedestrians need to be alerted with a horn.

I received a notification by email from NHTSA about a recall for our 2023 Hyundai Kona N. It states that the recall has to do with Loss of Drive Power from Fuel Pump Failure. Your recall ID 24V528 sent July 22, I phoned the dealer, Mike Murphy in Peoria, Illinois and they could not find this recall. I have an appointment with them on Oct 24 to bring in my car for an oil change and to fix a recall on the trunk lock (I was not given any info on this recall until I contacted the dealership). Since I put in my VIN # above, It did not turn up anything either. What's going on and why are you sending Recalls that have nothing to do with my vehicle (?)

While driving, my car completely turned off and the dashboard say “engine turn off”. This happened on two separate occasions. Also on separate occasions while i was driving the beep to indicate that i was too close to another car went off when i was not near another car, during that time it also emergency breaked on its own.

The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Kona. The contact stated that when starting the vehicle, the system check lights were illuminated normally; however, all the system symbols had a red "exclamation mark" next to the symbols. Additionally, the contact stated that the horn and many safety features were no longer operable. The contact stated that the Lane Departure warning, Blind Spot warning, and the radio were inoperable. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the main computer was not interfacing with the safety systems. The contact was advised by the dealer that there was no remedy for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

Forward Safety Mode is the default setting on every time you start the vehicle and this mode when entering from side streets or any strip center or lane into on coming traffic lanes the vehicle senses you crossing the road lines and kills the Accelerator! When trying to enter onto the main road even if you allow enough time to accelerate to pull out onto main road: The vehicle thinks you are off raod or in some sort of danger and kills the accelerator and if you think fast enough after the 2-3 second delay you can floor the accelerator and the vehicle will then start picking up after a dangerous delay that can get someone t-boned and very serious accident if not possible death. Its a very dangerous function. Note: I manually go in and turn this forward safety to warning only or off. I use the warning but the real problem is you have to do this upon every start after turning the engine off. I think this needs to be seriously looked into.If you dont turn to warning setting and go to say pull out of a store onto the highway and dont leave enough time to avoid on coming traffic and or you freeze due to no accelleration you are in deep trouble and maybe an accident!! Or Death..

This has happened 3 times and I’ve only owned the car since Sept 2023, the first time was Feb 4 2024, then Feb 28th and March 11, 2024, when I am trying to accelerate I push on the gas and the rpm’s will go higher but the car doesn’t gain any speed.so when trying to pass a vehicle I can’t because it will do this and it’s dangerous, I do have a video of this

The knock sensor on the engine fails when exposed to any amount of water. The car is designed in a way that lets on too much. It’s something that is VERY common amongst owners of these vehicles. It’s a safety flaw that needs to be fixed because it puts the car in “limp” mode. That makes the car instantly halt acceleration. Please hold Hyundai accountable

After washing my '23 Kona N in a hand car wash, I experienced a sudden, complete loss of power as I was pulling into traffic immediately afterwards, nearly resulting in a rear-end collision. There was a flashing check engine light (CEL or MIL) on the dash, and I had to have the vehicle towed to a dealership. The stored OBD-II code is P132600 (knock sensor). The car has only 16k miles on it. This is a KNOWN ISSUE, and there are complaints about it all over Reddit, Facebook, and other Internet sites, and it also affects the same generation Elantra N. This issue can occur ANY TIME THE VEHICLE GETS WET. It is unacceptable that simply washing my car or driving my vehicle in the rain can cause me to lose all power and create an unsafe driving condition. PLEASE compel Hyundai to address this safety issue with a recall.

The vehicle was purchased brand new. After the first recommended oil change interval, the car has leaking oil daily. A complaint of the leak made to the dealer at 2nd oil change. Dealer stated they found nothing wrong. Car still leaks oil even after subsequent oil changes at prescribed service intervals. We now have to place a pan underneath the vehicle while it’s parked in the garage to catch the daily oil leaks. Very frustrating and very concerning that a brand new car is leaking oil.

Had left Costco and while driving away down road to intersection, the 2023 Kona SEL abruptly locked the brakes and briefly skidded, as it displayed Emergency Braking Activated message on display. I had crossed a dotted line to enter a left turn lane at about 20 mph to make a turn which should not have triggered the AEB-there wasnt anything in front of me whatsoever except empty road, the roadway was dry and unobstructed. I maintained control of the car after being surprised by the brakes locking up for a second or two without any warning. I have not experienced this before after driving the Kona for little over a year and a half, with 22, 000 miles. I experienced repeated phantom braking problems with a 2120 Mazda Cx30 I previously owned; the Kona braked harder into a brief skid but shorter in time than the CX30. This was more dangerous!

Rodent damage found during 1-year maintenance. This is an increasing problem that is under-reported. Damage was found before any wires were effected, however, the wiring was exposed and would have caused a malfunction had this not been detected by technician. 1. Automakers across the board are using cheaper, soy-based elements to wrap wiring and customers are having to deal with the result of subpar parts. 2. With automakers increasing the time allowed between oil changes, customers are given a false sense of functionality in the vehicles they drive. 3. Automakers that advertise "free maintenance" should not be allowed to limit maintenance to once per year or every 5,000-8,000 miles, as more prudent inspection would prevent customers from unknowingly having their cars devoured by rodents.

Been waiting six months for Hyundai part to fix a fire hazard. They knowingly installed a defective part during manufacturing of the vehicle. A scared to drive the car knowing it can catch fire at any moment. Hyundai refuses to compensate in any way.

I took my vehicle through a touch free car wash. After the wash the vehicle sat for about 10 to 20 minutes while I dried off the exterior and cleaned out my interior. After leaving the car wash the car made it less than a mile down the road and illuminated a flashing check engine light with a P132600 code implying a connection rod failure detected by the knock sensor. As of time of reporting the vehicle is still waiting to be serviced by the dealership as it is still under warranty. Safety can be impacted as the vehicle will immediately go into limp mode, throttling performance.

Horn no longer works when pressed at 11,396 miles. Manufacturer will not offer loaner vehicle. Vehicle is not safe to drive without horn. Manufacturer does not seem to care that it's broken and will not expedite the repair process. I will have to drive this vehicle for approximately a month with no horn. My safety is put at risk as I cannot warn other drivers of impending danger and cannot warn other drivers they are about to hit me. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle. The inspection will take place on August 21st. There were no warning indications before I attempted to use the horn and it didn't work. It's possible that the horn has been broken for a while.

Car stopped accelerating on the highway and held me at 40mph. This happened twice. Then before being able to get it in for service while driving the car made a loud bang and came to a rolling stop again on the highway and the transmission control system alarm went off and the car would not move. Had to get towed off the highway and in a rental now. This was a brand new 2023 hyundai kona sel limited.

"So give your new car a little time to get used to and what range to expect under different conditions. BTW I have an Ioniq 6. Its range is actually pretty close to my old Kona, but charges a lot faster. However, it too, is still affected by speed and temps. This is encouraging to hear. I won't be too judgmental till The temps begin to head into the 60's and beyond. I keep my air pressure at 37psi which while driving typically reaches 39psi, so I feel that's ideal. I LOVE the built in tire pressure monitor system. Lets me keep an eye on that easily and accurately. I did note virtually NO wind noise at 80mph which is a real first for me with any car I've owned. Very little road noise to speak of as well. One can easily hold a normal conversation no issues. Soaks up bumps real nicely as well. I'll say this when you shut the door on this baby it conveys solid as a rock. Nothing says cheap in fit or finish. #### insightman"

I like to stop every 2-300 kms ( 120-180 miles approx) and by the time I have refreshed car is as charged as I need it to get to the next location. Charge speed varies from 25 to 78 kW depending on conditions and battery level. Tesla Chargers are good and usually give faster speeds but are almost twice as expensive as private charge stations here in Oz. #### ENirogus > Johnnysolar said: > > Strongly agree. "Help! US Hyundai Kona N Line 2024, CarPlay Broken, Can’t Update, No Dealer Support Abroad Hi everyone, I’m at a loss and really need advice from anyone who’s dealt with U.S.-spec Hyundais abroad or ccNC head unit issues. **The Problem:** * I imported a 2024 Hyundai Kona N Line from the U.S. to Iraq. * Apple CarPlay does **not work** on my current infotainment software (ccNC head unit, SW: SX2.USA.ccNC.001.001.230901). * When I try to update the head unit with an official Hyundai Navigation Updater USB (from the U.S. update site), the car INSTANTLY shows:*“Please check the device containing the update files and try again.”* * The car never scans the USB at all – it just rejects it immediately. **What I’ve Tried:** * **Contacted Hyundai USA (Bluelink, Mapnsoft/Navigation, and Consumer Affairs):** * They told me they don’t support cars located outside the USA/Canada. * They also told me all U.S. head unit updates are unavailable globally until mid/late October due to a “temporary server issue.” (Email attached below.) * **Contacted Hyundai Middle East/Bluelink MEA:** * They stated that they only officially support Bluelink for cars sold and registered in the Middle East. * Explicitly refused to help with Apple CarPlay or software updates for U.S. imports (screenshot below). * **Visited local authorized dealer in Baghdad (Al-Oula Motors):** * Dealer refused to even look at the car as soon as they learned it was a U.S. import. * I clarified to all of them that I **don’t need navigation or maps**, just an infotainment system update so CarPlay will work. * **Tried all USB formatting tricks** (FAT32, NTFS, different brands, sizes, both SSD and regular stick). * **Advanced firmware hack methods aren’t even possible**: since U.S. update files are now blocked/unavailable until October, I can’t download the latest .swu files to try bootloader workarounds. **Emails and Responses:** * Hyundai USA: “We don’t support updates or troubleshooting outside North America. Updates globally are down until October.” * Hyundai MEA: “We do not support U.S.-spec vehicles. Bluelink and CarPlay support is not available for imports.” * Local Dealer: “No support for U.S. vehicles.” **So Now I’m Stuck:** * CarPlay is dead. * Can’t update firmware/infotainment. * No local, regional, or official U.S. support. * Even DIY update tricks are blocked by Hyundai’s current update blackout for U.S. vehicles. **Has ANYONE found a workaround or third-party solution for this?** * Is there a way to “unlock” USB update mode on the ccNC unit? * Will a U.S.-spec head unit *ever* be updateable abroad, or am I just out of luck? * Any alternative to at **least restore basic CarPlay**, even if I lose navigation? **Any help or experience would be really appreciated.** I’ll post screenshots of the emails and error messages if needed. Thanks in advance!"

"Is it possible to roll back / downgrade Hyundai software updates? On April 12th I got an OTA software update on my 2023 Hyundai Kona Electric that was automatically installed: >Platform: Standard-class Gen5W Navigation Updated: 4-12-2025 Model: OSBE.S5BMC.US Software version: OSPEEV23.USA.S5W\_M.V013.010.241120 Since then my Bluelink has been partially broken, it's retrieving my odometer reading and car location but not anything else -- no estimated range, charge status, battery level, and no car commands (lock, climate, etc) work. Tried a lot of troubleshooting stuff (deleting app, paperclip reset + pressing reconfigure bluelink on head unit, etc) but nothing is working. Bluelink support gave me a ticket number and said 10 business days to get back to me. Considering things broke on the same day of the software update, it probably has something to do with a buggy firmware. Is there a way to get the previous software version and reflash via a USB drive or something? Or is it not possible to downgrade?"
"I was enthusiastic about buying a new 2025 Kona Limited EV recently. My first 100% charges at home were indeed right up to that 261mi estimated. It dropped during the first 2 weeks to the 240's. It was perhaps about 45 degrees Fahrenheit in garage. I charged up to 100% prior to a micro trip I wanted to go on which was about 100 miles each way. On the way stopped at Electrify American 350kwh station just to top up as I'd not used one before. I admit I did NOT pre condition the battery on a 40 degree day. I'd basically driven about 55 miles at that point and was already at 72% charge. I was only able to pull 32kwh so only stayed there about a half hour getting it to 81%. I left and continued onto the remainder of the one way part of the trip which was about 50 miles. On the way home it was burning electrons like crazy. I got home at 1%. at 20% on the highway it alerted me to stop and charge. At 10% it warned me once again about taking a break and charging. I was pleasantly surprised at no point did it slow my speed by default as some cars will do. But I figured it was damn the torpedoes as I had NO Place along the way to charge. Drove up and plugged in my Level 2 charger and was ok. But honestly the estimated 261miles for this car is greatly inflated, which greatly disappoints me. I was coming from a 2021 ID-4 RWD which was rated at 240mi and while it was no long ranger tended to sip it's electrons a bit better."
