I leased my Rivian on June 28th. Around July 21st, the vehicle started to drift to the left. On August 19th, my vehicle started to develop bump steer over uneven road surfaces. I brought my vehicle in for service on August 20th. From August 20th to now, my vehicle has had 3 alignments performed, none of them have been maintained spec. Attached are screenshots/pictures of the alignments. Between the first and second alignment the vehicle was driven about ~50 miles. Between the second and third it was driven about another 50 miles. I do not have exact mileage as Rivian has not released service records to me. My vehicle does not track straight on any surface. In addition, because of the regenerative breaking of the Rivian, when you stop the vehicle it pulls significantly to the right, approximately a half lane for every 75 feet. My concern is that the vehicle cannot maintain an alignment over the course of ~110 miles, does not track straight, exhibits bump steer, and Rivian has no available solve to this behavior.

The car while driving at normal highway speeds announced that there was a high risk of electrocution associated with driving in wet conditions. This was via a red screen in the driver display. Car is 2025 R1T with 15,000 miles on it. Anyway near the vehicle was at risk of being exposed to 400v electricity.

We leased this R1T from Polestar Boston, though we live in Vt, because it was assured to us that in the event of a warranty or recall issue, Polestar Boston would pick up the car and tow to the service center for the repair. Now with this turn signal recall, the gentelman on the phone told me no... that they will not come repair the recall. That if we want it fixed, we have to drive the 4 hours to Boston and they will change the blinkers for us. What legal rights do we have here? thank you

The manufacturer service tech advised that the clevis mount holding the front passenger suspension in place was missing a weld to the frame (the attached work order says it was re-welded, but when asked they said the weld was missing). This resulted in creaking noises through the cab when turning.

"2+ Years and 27,000 miles I have an early VIN R1T. After more than 2 years (March, 2022) and 27,000, I thought someone might wonder what long (ish) term ownership looks like. Put simply, the Rivian R1T is the best vehicle I have ever owned, driven or ridden in. That includes: BMW, Tesla, Bentley, Subaru, Honda, Toyota (180,000 miles on that one), Mercedes, and Ford. The R1T has gone on long west coast road trips to visit national and state parks. It has been overlanding through coastal mountains. We go to the mountains to ski. We trailer motorcycles to remote areas. One of my kids is a rower so we are constantly dealing with piles of wet and dirty crap. Pets and people are in and out a lot. Even with above average abuse, the interior remains immaculate. The gear tunnel is so practical and useful. I thought it was a gimmick at first, but is so much more. The seats are the most comfortable car seats especially on long drives. The general build quality continues to impress me. Oh and the truck is so much fun to drive and quick off the line. My only gripe is the charging pad and dirt trap in the console. That is a small price to pay for a vehicle I am happy to get in every day."

M3 4. F-150 Lariat 3. GLS 2. Model X 1. R1T Experience with R1T: I have owned the R1T for a few weeks now, have already had a few issues so I don't think I'm being idealistic, but this is hands down the best overall vehicle I have ever had. Size: The size is perfect. I am not a contractor so while I have always loved having a truck the full size was just too much to navigate in city setting and midsize was always a little cramped inside and no luxuries on midsize. Ride quality: The ride quality of the R1T is impressive and I'm surprised at some of the reviews I have read. The GLS is probably the most comfortable riding car I've owned, but the R1T is easily second. M2 most fun car to drive but can't really compare that to a truck. For the size tires (20in AT) it handles everything well and has great on road manors. Storage/Interior: The convenience of the storage options is huge and interior packaging is top of the line. Overall quality is leaps and bounds above Tesla and really does feel luxury. It's by no means BMW/Merc level but it's really nice. Tech: This is another area I am surprised people complain about so much, especially knowing it will only get better. I think it's way better than Sync and only pales to Tesla. I have had CarPlay on so many cars but honestly think the best overall experience is Tesla which does not have it. So I (in minority) am glad Rivian is focusing on their UI and not letting CarPlay take over. I also LOVE the screen sizes and layout. The thing I hated most about the lighting was the screen. It looks ridiculous, I much preferred the 12in horizontal screen in the Lariat. Speakers: probably the best standard system I have encountered. I do have the meridian system so can't speak to in house. Overall value: I don't know how you beat it. I think under $120k it holds up against anything. Why I'm excited about the future for Rivian: with everything I love there are so many places they can improve the vehicle. And that's a good thing bc I think it allows them to make small changes and stay competitive in the market. Little conveniences could help push the upper price (soft close doors, audio upgrades, interior choices, photochromic roof, continued UI upgrades) I also think they have a really great chance to corner a unique sedan market. If it was dry with optimum temperature and you are getting 30% worse miles/kwh then something is wrong with it. I have an R1T which I have found to be very conservative in its range estimate, unlike my Tesla which is overly optimistic. I love the R1T so much I just ordered an R1S max pack to replace my Model Y which I frankly never much liked (poor visibility, trash UI, loud interior noise (I have first year production), and poor range perfomance. #44· Nov 10, 2024"
"11 reasons to appreciate the quality and product maturity of the Rivian R1T In short: a list of problems in the $170K+ Lucid which are fully functional in the (then) $70K+ R1T. While watching an Edmunds review of the Lucid (two or three times the launch price of the R1T) they list 11 (or more) problems in the software that make the Lucid ownership experience … less than ok. They go on to compare quality and subtleties of materials and the "feel" of the cabin to other high end luxury vehicles (I see Rivian as a high end luxury vehicle in a niche market, sold in very small numbers to "cognoscenti" buyers who are fully in the loop on what's really happening in the EV world.) As one tiny gear in the mechanism of the "early adopter" phase, I enjoy offering feedback and feature requests to help Rivian build its business, participate from the customer perspective as they implement its support infrastructure and generally learn how to be a car company, It's fun and interesting to have a ticket to ride on this adventure and get a free truck with every ticket. I'm afraid the Lucid owner is not getting the same quality of adventure and this review struck me as "a list of some things we take for granted" when driving an R1T. ​ p.s. I'm still impatient to get at least an OTA beta of tank turn mode. : )"
"I wish I had seen this post. I picked my R1S Gen 2 up in mid-Sept. 2024 and have only had constant issues and major ones and many: 12 Volt battery, electrical circut failure, locking not always working properl, car not turning off after parked, turtle mode going on multiple times, now danger electrical shock warning on the dash, the list is really long. It has already been in the shop for two weeks which means I have only had in my possession for a short time and most of that time it has not worked. I wanted to love this car but now am so disappointed and angry about it. Trying to see if I can return the car as a lemon. #46· Nov 10, 2024 Thanks, @Zipper, for your response. "- Door Locks unlock on their own, without me being near the car. (ie too far for my phone to trigger the unlock)(Side note, the Gen2 doesn't come with Keyfobs, which in my opinion is a big miss) - Cruise control not working (Unavailable at this time message) - Missing fasteners in the fender well - Trim misaligned - Rattle coming from dash area - Drive Cam not working (I set it up, and after leaving the car for a few hours and coming back, it will not work, and has turned off power to the USB ports. The next day we drove 60 miles and used 92 miles. Service and follow through is the worst I have ever experienced. First texting, then long waits to no avail on the toll free line. Press 1 for a call back and of course no call backs. Very, very disappointed in this purchase and would not recommend buying one to anyone.
